RFK and the War on Ultra-Processed Foods: What It Means for the Future of Nutrition

RFK’s Take on High Fructose Corn Syrup: The Poisoning of America?

RFK, nominated to lead the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, has expressed strong concerns about high fructose corn syrup and its prevalence in products like Coca-Cola and baby formula. He has referred to ultra-processed foods containing high fructose corn syrup as “poisoning” Americans and has advocated for measures to reduce their consumption. For instance, RFK had suggested removing sugary drinks and processed foods from federal programs like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, which could impact the availability of products containing high fructose corn syrup. Additionally, Kennedy’s advisors are reportedly considering significant revisions to the FDA’s rules governing food additives, which could also affect the use of high fructose corn syrup in various products.

Although we do not advocate for the frequent consumption of soda, cane sugar is much less processed than high fructose corn syrup, while also being lower on the glycemic index. The bigger issue at hand? The overwhelming presence of industrially manufactured, ultra-processed foods in the modern diet—a stark contrast to the nutrient-dense animal foods that sustained our ancestors.

1. RFK Takes on Big Pharma’s Influence in Government Health Policy

Government health leaders should be protecting public health, but RFK claims many of them are serving corporate interests instead. If appointed to lead the Department of Health and Human Services, Kennedy has vowed to fire those government officials who are financially entangled with Big Pharma. The revolving door between regulatory agencies and the pharmaceutical industry has led to policies that prioritize profit over public well-being. If RFK follows through on this promise, it could be the biggest shake-up in modern public health history.

2. UK’s Nutrition Advisors: Bought and Paid For?

When more than half of the UK government’s nutritional advisors are receiving payments from food companies, how can the public be expected to “trust the experts”? It’s no surprise that mainstream dietary guidelines continue to push seed oils, low-fat diets, and ultra-processed plant-based alternatives instead of nutrient-dense animal foods. The conflict of interest is undeniable. The more we dig, the clearer it becomes—real nutrition isn’t coming from boardroom-approved dietary recommendations. It’s coming from the foods humans have thrived on for millennia.

3. US Medical Journals: Corruption in Peer Review

More than half of U.S. physician peer reviewers for four major international medical journals have received over a billion dollars in payments. These are the same people who are supposed to uphold the integrity of medical research. When peer review—meant to serve as the gold standard for scientific validation—is compromised by financial ties, we end up with studies that reinforce industry interests rather than truth. Whether it’s demonizing saturated fat, pushing new pharmaceuticals, or downplaying the dangers of ultra-processed foods, the influence of Big Food and Big Pharma on medical literature is undeniable.

4. RFK’s Plan to Clean House at the FDA: Food, Sunlight, and Natural Health Under Attack

RFK has promised to clear out corrupt members of the FDA, which could dramatically shift how Americans approach health. For years, the FDA has aggressively suppressed peptides, psychedelics, stem cells, raw milk, sunshine, and even exercise—all-natural and effective approaches to human health. Why? Because these things can’t be patented and turned into billion-dollar pharmaceutical products. Suppose RFK is serious about taking on the FDA’s deep-rooted ties to corporate interests, it could pave the way for a future where food is medicine. In that case, natural therapies are embraced, and people are empowered to take their health into their own hands.

The Future of Food Freedom

RFK’s vision for reform could mean a radical shift in how health, nutrition, and medicine are approached in America. Whether or not he follows through on his promises, one thing is clear—big industry does not have our best interests at heart. The path to real health has always been simple: nutrient-dense, ancestral foods, natural movement, and a return to the principles that sustained human health for generations.

The Carnivore Bar exists for that very reason—to provide real food in a world overrun by ultra-processed, corporate-approved garbage. No additives, no industrial oils, no nonsense. Just real nutrition.

Food is freedom. And the fight is far from over.
